About the Artist

Van Lanigh
Van Lanigh is a painter, photographer, and sculptor based in the Netherlands. She describes her art as “an unusual blend of abstractionism, figurative art, and surrealism,” and works primarily in oils, oil pastels, acrylics, plastic, and clay.

Lanigh used art-making to escape from reality and deal with anxiety throughout her childhood. After attending a local art school, Lanigh began her artistic career at sixteen, and moved to the Netherlands at eighteen. Her work deals with the continuous search to find peace in chaos.

Lanigh has participated in 6×6 exhibitions at RoCo, and the artwork pictured here was exhibited in a recent Member’s Exhibition. Her work has also been shown nationally in the Netherlands, as well as in Switzerland, the United States, Japan, France, Germany, Hong Kong, England, Italy, and South Korea.

RoCo’s Davis-Havens Sales Gallery offers artworks of all styles at a range of prices, all to benefit Rochester Contemporary Art Center.
