About the Artist

Dale Klein is a printmaker and painter born in Buffalo, NY who currently lives in Rochester. She received her Bachelors in Studio Art from Nazareth and her MFA from Rutgers after 25 years working as a clinical social worker. Klein’s interests lie in the post-industrial landscape of the Northeast US. Her influences include Charles Sheeler, Ralston Crawford, and Charles Demuth.

While studying at Nazareth, Klein was drawn to the combination of process and creativity that printmaking requires. One of her favorite printing processes is aquatint, which allows her to achieve various tones in her etchings. Klein began painting while studying at Rutgers, and now works in both oil and acrylic.

Klein has exhibited in group exhibitions around the country, including at the Memorial Art Gallery, Main Street Arts (Clifton Springs, NY), Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center (Auburn, NY), Bradley University (Peoria, IL), White Box Gallery (New York, NY), and others. She has exhibited in solo shows at the MuCCC (Rochester, NY) and Washington Printmakers Gallery (Washington DC). She has been a member of The Print Club of Rochester, the Arena Art Group, and of RoCo, exhibiting in several Members and 6×6 exhibitions over the years.

RoCo’s Davis-Havens Sales Gallery offers artworks of all styles at a range of prices, all to benefit Rochester Contemporary Art Center. Hundreds of artworks, which have been donated by collectors (and some artists), are rotated on view regularly. Artworks have been given expressly for this ongoing fundraiser so prices are often significantly discounted. All proceeds from the sale of these artworks support the long term future of RoCo.
Our Future Fund Featured Find is a new initiative highlighting a different artwork and artist each month.
