Infinite Blue, With Grief + Gratitude

Infinite Blue, With Grief + Gratitude is a visual meditation by Katharine Torgersen on the nonlinear and lifelong nature of grieving. The installation combines glass paintings, lighting, and field recordings to reflect the confluence of emotions and how we are changed by loss.

About the Artist

Katharine Torgersen is a visual artist living in Rochester, NY. Her creative interests include acrylic on glass, long-exposure night photography, and creative nonfiction. She has used her artwork to raise thousands of dollars for charitable organizations including the Alzheimer’s Association, Diversity Richmond, Orlando Youth Alliance, and local animal shelters. Katharine is a recipient of the 2024 GVCA Individual Artist grant. Through her work, she invites viewers on a journey of wonder, introspection, and healing.
