March 7, 2025 - March 28, 2025
"A Roc Moment" captures a pivotal point in time and history. This exhibition marks the fifth anniversary of the life-altering COVID-19 pandemic which abruptly halted life as we knew it, isolating us indoors with our family or alone in solitude.
In Spring 2020, photographer Renée Veniskey was inspired to capture this very real moment in time — A Roc Moment of drive-by birthday parties, grandmas waving through a window, and families cuddling close with their pets and one another on front porches. Renee’s camera lens allowed her to stay at a distance while documenting real life in real time, and those moved by her photographs made donations to charities in need, paying forward the emotion and power of a captured Roc Moment.
Today we talk of the silver linings — families grew closer, working-from-home is now acceptable — but in 2020 we were scared, messy, and overwhelmed. - RV

About the Artist
Renée tells stories through her photography, intriguing and engaging audiences as she illustrates and promotes the power and beauty of tourism, the arts, business, and individuals. Her passion lies in photo composition, integrating the best-possible combination of people, personalities, and settings. When shooting, Renée immerses herself in the experience, soaking up the energy of her photo subjects while also connecting with the chosen location. She prefers on-location photography as her subjects become their most-authentic selves when out in the world they love. Renée is the mother of two boys, ages 10 and 15, and truly loves her hometown of Rochester, N.Y. She is proud to regularly photograph local leaders and businesses, as well as community organizations, including Visit Rochester, United Way, YMCA of Greater Rochester, The Child Advocacy Center, American Heart Association, and Rochester Music Hall of Fame. She also is proud to have founded the inaugural young professionals’ organization at George Eastman Museum.
