About the Artist

Elizabeth King Durand
Elizabeth King Durand is a printmaker whose work concentrates on traditional etchings and collagraph monoprints of landscapes. She uses both traditional and innovative techniques to achieve a particular effect. From the artist, “My response to the colors, textures and atmospheric effects of the landscape is best portrayed through the subtle and changeable techniques of the etching process. Printmaking techniques, that build up layers, textures and veils of color all combine to achieve a look that references the natural world.”

Elizabeth’s work has been exhibited widely, including at RoCo in exhibitions with the Arena Art Group, Members Exhibitions, and in a three-person exhibition at Main Street Arts (Clifton Springs, NY) in 2015. She is a member of the Arena Art Group, RoCo, and other arts organizations. She has taught at RIT, St. John Fisher College, with the Artists Association of Nantucket, and at numerous workshops around the country.

RoCo’s Davis-Havens Sales Gallery offers artworks of all styles at a range of prices, all to benefit Rochester Contemporary Art Center. Hundreds of artworks, which have been donated by collectors (and some artists), are rotated on view regularly. Artworks have been given expressly for this ongoing fundraiser so prices are often significantly discounted. All proceeds from the sale of these artworks support the long term future of RoCo.
Our Future Fund Featured Find is a new initiative highlighting a different artwork and artist each month.
