A Voice to a Voice

December 4, 2020 - February 6, 2021

This exhibition features the complete 2019 portfolio of the International Print Exchange Program, India. Curated by Somedutta Mallik (Artist, Writer, Art historian, India) and featuring a text by Sarah Kirk Hanley (Executive Director, Manhattan Graphics Center, New York, USA) this diverse collection of prints by 36 international artists invites the viewer to engage the melange of voices and create an unending trail of dialogue between them. This special exhibition of the 2019 IPEP portfolio is facilitated by Rochester-based printmaker and IPEP featured artist, Nick Ruth.

About IPEP

International Print Exchange Programme (IPEP), India is a non-profit initiative through which printmakers share their work with each-other across the globe. Participants individually exhibit the IPEP compiled portfolio in their respective locations and get to add it to their own collection. Consequently, their work gets exhibited internationally. IPEP boosts networking among printmakers and creates awareness about printmaking as an art form among its viewers. Since 2013, this initiative has spawned into a community of 195 participants from 33 countries contributing a fantastic run of 65+ exhibitions around the world.

Presented along with this exhibition, Make One, Take One is a dynamic program about printmaking exchange portfolios. This symposium-style event seeks to draw out and amplify the practice of the printmaking portfolio, underscoring its function as a means for creating cultural exchange, artistic support networks, and innovation in printmaking. There will be five short illustrated presentations, each discussing a portfolio or portfolio project, its concept and structure, and its contribution to the printmaking community. Learn more here
